Overview

This course build on over 15 years of SIM Faculty Development and is fully updated to include all "How To's" on:

  • Foundations of Adult Learning and Simulation
  • SIM 1.0 to 2.0-Applying SIM Directly to the Bedside
  • SIM Activity Development Pathways
  • SIM Ecosystems- From Training to Testing to 3D Engineering
  • SIMZONES of Curriculum Development
  • SIM Metrics and Research 
  • SIM Debriefing and Feedback Across All Expertise Domains
  • Scenario Design and Delivery 
Objectives
  1. Discuss how simulation is incorporated into healthcare as a teaching methodology
  2. Discuss the current Zone Curriculum process used in SIMPeds as mechanisms to teach skills, algorithms and team training
  3. Discuss Kolb's learning theory in relation to adult learning and the simulation teaching cycle
  4. Describe the five elements of Crisis Resource Management and how they pertain to simulation team training
  5. Describe the steps to structuring a debriefing
  6. Design and run a simulation scenario as part of a team

Refund Policy

Registration by credit card can be made by clicking register button above. Registration by check (draft on a United States bank): please make payable to Boston Children’s Hospital and contact Lesley Niccolini a Lesley.niccolini@childrens.harvard.edu to discuss payment. Telephone or fax registration is not accepted. Registration with cash payment is not permitted. Upon receipt of your paid registration, an email confirmation from the Boston Children’s office will be sent to you. Be sure to include an email address that you check frequently. Your email address is used for critical information, including registration confirmation, evaluation and certificate.

Full refunds will be issued for all cancellations received 2 weeks prior to the start of the course. Refund requests must be received by postal mail, email or telephone. “No shows” are subject to the full course fee, and no refunds will be issued once the conference has started.


Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Boston Children's Hospital is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.



Physician: Boston Children’s Hospital designates this live activity for a maximum of  19.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits ™ per session.Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in this activity.

AAPA accepts AMA category 1 credit for the PRA from organizations accredited by ACCME.

Nurse: Boston Children’s Hospital designates this activity for 19.00 contact hours for nurses per session. Nurse should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
