Overview

We are happy to bring you our next exciting program, “Risky Business: Behavioral Health – Calming the Storm”.

Considerable challenges continue for patients, families and providers trying to cope with persistent behavioral health crisis across communities.  Hospitals have tried to keep patients safe, find space, optimize management plans, all of which is vital. By exploring the crisis from through the lens of the healthcare system, individual practitioner and legislator, we will explore unique prospects for solutions that consider the mental health of the human from all angles.

The panelists in this conference will discuss a wide array of issues ranging from systemic issues, workforce implications and community need and what industry experts are doing to remedy the situation. We will review innovative digital technology and collaboration between healthcare systems and government efforts to address issues of capacity and resource strain.

Course Format

In this 2 hour virtual webinar, Risky Business will approach this crisis from both the perspective of the patient community as well as clinicians.

What is Risky Business?

For over a decade, Risky Business, started by leaders from Great Ormond Street, SickKids, and Boston Children’s Hospital, organize and run conferences and courses to improve safety and quality outcomes in healthcare by sharing and learning from other high-risk industries.

Risky Business events are groundbreaking and imaginative focusing on risk management, patient safety and safety awareness. We continually ‘raise the bar’ by sharing safety ideas and experiences across industries in order to help our professional colleagues operate in a safer environment. An essential element to Risky Business is to intertwine experiences from speakers representing a wide array of non-healthcare industries into a unified story and relevant outcomes.

We do this through sharing experiences and ideas between those who operate in risky environments such as business, emergency services, exploration, sports and healthcare. Our speakers are chosen from a vast array of other sectors. They kindly share their stories so that we can all learn from their experiences and potentially improve safety and reduce risk in our own working environments. These talks cover diverse themes such as teamwork, leadership, survival, crisis management, investigation, reconciliation after things go wrong, team support, innovation, technology, role for artificial intelligence & system analysis.
