Boston Children's Hospital 10th Annual Pediatric Trauma Conference

The Trauma Center at Boston Children's Hospital invites you to join our faculty and invited guest speakers from across the country for a day of presentations on pediatric trauma. This conference is designed to serve the educational needs of nursing and EMS practitioners by bridging the practice gap between academic evidence-based practice and bedside care. Experts from a multitude of specialties who specialize in caring for injured children will share their knowledge and provide a comprehensive review of treatments, advances and strategies in pediatric trauma care. 

Course Format
This years course will be presented as a live webinar, via zoom. 

1. Discuss the emergent care of the brain injured patient.
2. Discuss the unique needs of injured special needs patients.
3. Identify key components that would trigger a referral to a hospital-based child protection program.
4. Enumerate at least one sign or symptom of impending extremity ischemia related to compression and summarize appropriate investigation and intervention.
5. Discuss the endocannabinoid system, cannabinoid pharmacology, cannabinoid products, and common formulations.
6. Identify the unique challenges of reviewing pediatric resuscitations.
7. Understand the trends in youth violence in America & the factors driving these trends.
8. Outline injury patterns commonly associated with specific mechanisms of injury.
