Interactive Education + Simulation in Adult Congenital Heart Disease (I-ACHD)

With approximately 1.3 million patients in the US alone, adult congenital heart patients represent one of the fastest growing adult cardiology populations. With these patients living longer and accessing medical care more frequently than their peers, ACHD patients are rapidly becoming part of everyone’s practice.

The I-ACHD course is an interactive educational experience that focuses on the physiology behind congenital heart disease. Over the course of two days, faculty will present interdisciplinary case discussions, real-life simulations, and hands-on anatomy with 3D digital hearts and cardiac specimens to create a dynamic learning environment in which students can explore the physiology of ACHD.

• Trainee, RN, NP, PA fee: $350

There will be a $50 discount for all registrants who enroll by March 1, 2018.

1. Improve understanding in the practicing physician, mid-level provider and nurse in the clinical management of ACHD patients focusing on current published literature and institutional expertise.
2. Utilize current literature and best practices guidelines in ACHD patient care
3. Recognize the anatomic relationships and their integration to clinical management

In support of improving patient care, Boston Children's Hospital is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for the healthcare team. 

Physicians  
Boston Children’s Hospital designates this live activity for a maximum of 15.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits ™. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in this activity. 

AAPA accepts AMA category 1 credit for the PRA from organizations accredited by ACCME 

Nurses  
Boston Children’s Hospital designates this activity for 15.25 contact hours for nurses. Nurses should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

MOC Part II 
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity, with individual assessments of the participant and feedback to the participant, enables the participant to earn 15 MOC point in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program, 15 with the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program, and 15 with the American Board of Anesthesiology Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology Program® (MOCA®). It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting MOC credit.
